The International Merit Scholarship

This scholarship offer from the University of Leicester is a merit-based offer for International students. This scholarship is worth about £5,000 to cover the successful applicants’ tuition fee as a discount each year. The scholarship is offered to international students who are currently enrolled in any course of studies and are paying fees

-fee-paying students applying for both This scholarship offer is available and offered to both the undergraduate and postgraduate students. Also for students of university of Leicester that are advancing from any of the University’s International Pathway Foundation Year and or International Pathway Year 1 courses on to an undergraduate programme. It is very important to note that students are encouraged to have a high score percentage to qualify for this category.

For application to this scholarship; This scholarship is automatic which means you do not have to submit an independent application. Eligible students of the University of Leicester are automatically considered and notified of this offer.

International Undergraduate Merit Scholarship
International Postgraduate Merit Scholarship.

I will explain these categories together as they are similar and serve one purpose. These two scholarships are offered to international students only who are desirous studying in University of Leicester. Applications open yearly and accept students from all over the world. If you have desire to pursue academic excellence at the University of Leicester you should consider these two scholarships

Chancellor’s International Scholarship

This scholarship is offered by the University of Leicester in honour of the University Chancellor. The Chancellor’s International scholarship is available to all international-fee-paying students who meet the University’s requirements for undergraduate studies and postgraduate degree studies. The Chancellor’s scholarship is to the top £3,000 to cover part students’ tuition fee for every year per year.

Just like the first scholarship type, this scholarship is automatically awarded to eligible students. Enrolled students of the University of Leicester will be automatically considered. Qualified students will be notified of this offer.

The International undergraduate tuition fee waiver.

The University of Leicester also offers international undergraduate tuition scholarships which is aimed to waive 100 percent of the qualified students tuition fees. This scholarship is a 150 tuition fee waiver over the next five years to international undergraduate students of the University of Leicester.

How this works, this scholarship will begin with a total of 30 tuition fee waivers available for applicants. Applicants will send independent applications. This scholarship is not automatically awarded to students. Students will follow procedures to apply for this scholarship.

The International undergraduate tuition fee waiver

This scholarship does not cover all the courses offered at the University of Leicester. The International undergraduate tuition fee waiver does not include students of medicine, LLB Maitrise, and STEM International Foundation, ‘International Year 1’ courses and does not also cover programs that are exceeding three years in study duration.

Alumni discount

The Alumni discount is an opportunity open to students who are self financing. So if you are a student and you are a self-financing and you have completed an undergraduate degree (or PGCE course) at the University of Leicester, or you have completed a Study Abroad or Erasmus study placement at the University of Leicester, or completed a postgraduate (Master’s) degree at the University of Leicester, and you are advancing onto a higher-level degree, you are entitled to a tuition discount of 20% of the new course fee that you are taking on.

University of Leicester GREAT Scholarship

This particular scholarship is In partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign.

This scholarship is a total of £10,000 GBP tuition fee discount to students from Pakistan applying for one-year postgraduate courses. Note that this does not include Pakistan students taking GCEs.

Leicester–King Power Thai Scholarship

The Leicester–King Power Thai Scholarship a product of the University of Leicester partnership with Thailand, This scholarship is awarded to all Thai-domiciled international students starting a full-time, campus-based undergraduate or postgraduate degree studies program. The scholarship offer is over £5,000 for tuition fee discount. The Leicester-King Power Thai Scholarship is automatic. Which means students of Thailand do not have to apply for this scholarship independently. The scholarship is automatically awarded and awarded and notified students of the award.

Sanctuary scholarships

The sanctuary scholarship is awarded based on merit. This scholarship is specifically designed for asylum seekers in the United Kingdom. The family loyalty discount scholarship takes up to 10% of the student’s tuition fees therefore If your sibling, spouse or parent who is either currently studying on or has graduated from a full-time course at the University of Leicester, the students of the family could be qualified for this scholarship.
