This scholarship is called the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Program first launched in the year 2013 as part of an effort to support global education by the Hungarian Government. This scholarship is also part of the Hungarian Government “Eastern and Southern Opening” policy program.

The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Program was established with a core mission to attract and to increase the number of foreign students in Hungary and also to encourage Hungarian higher education institutions to source and attract top foreign students to study in Hungary.

Since the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship was established in the year 2013 the program currently has 94 sending partners who are currently and actively engaged in the program. Since its establishment, the program has now made it possible that every year hundreds of international students gain admission to the University of Pecs with the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Program.

The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Coverage.

The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship covers full tuition fees for periods of studies for students.
The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship also pay students a monthly stipend to cover living expenses, books, transportation and others. This stipend is for non-degree studies, bachelor degree studies, master degree studies, and also for one-tier master level: monthly HUF 43 700 contributions to the living expenses, for 12 months in a year, until the completion of studies,

For the students at the doctoral level there is a monthly HUF 140 000 for 12 months a year until the completion of the PhD studies program.

The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship also provides accommodation for students in the dormitory placement, where there is no dormitory space available or there is a reason student is not able to be placed in the dormitory such students receives a monthly contribution of HUF 40 000 to accommodation costs for the whole duration of the scholarship period.

The Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship also covers Medical insurance. The scholarship program would provide health care services according to the relevant Hungarian legislation and supplementary medical insurance for up to HUF 65 000 a year per student who is awarded this scholarship.

Qualification Requirements for Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship.

To apply and be part of the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Program, interested candidates must meet the following requirements set out to select suitable candidates. Applications will not be considered in any case if the applicant fails to meet up with the requirements.

Applicants to the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship must not be Hungarian citizens. And also a candidate who has a dual citizenship, a citizen of another country and a Hungarian citizenship is not qualified to apply for this scholarship.

Applicants to this scholarship must not have participated in a previous Stipendium Hungarian scholarship. If a candidate is a former Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship holder who is re-applying for studies in the same cycle of education, the candidate is not qualified, however may be qualified if applying for a different circle of education.

Eligibility Requirements for admission to study in Pecs.

Candidates who are applying for Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Program must also be eligible to study in University of Pecs. Therefore applicants must also be sure that he or she meets the admission requirements for the University of Pécs. Below are the admission eligibility criterias;

To be admitted at the University of Pécs for a Bachelor’s degree programs candidate must have successfully completed secondary education or have been awarded a college degree.

For Students going for a Bachelor’s program. In order to be offered a place in a bachelor’s (first cycle or undergraduate) program, candidates must have successfully completed his or her upper secondary education and be able to demonstrate the minimum language requirement for Bachelor’s degree programs.

For Bachelor of Education (BED) Training. To be offered an admission placement in BEd training, candidates must have been awarded a Bachelor’s degree in Teaching by an internationally recognized university and be able to demonstrate the minimum language requirement.

For masters degree programs; to study for a masters degree, the student must have been awarded a Bachelor’s degree by an internationally recognized university and be able to demonstrate the minimum language requirement for the masters program.

For a PhD program, the applicant must have been awarded a Master’s degree by an internationally recognized university and be able to demonstrate the minimum language requirement.

For students applying for a postgraduate specialist training the students must have been awarded a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree by an internationally recognized university and be able to demonstrate the minimum language requirement.

If you are interested in applying for the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Program and you meet all the application requirements here are the application processes to follow. Application is 100% percent online and the application for scholarship is 100% free therefore you must not pay an agent for application. Candidates should apply through the online application system of Tempus Public Foundation which manages the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Program, then during your application candidate should choose his or her selected study program at the University of Pécs as his or her first priority.
